It’s taken to the notice of all the Stone Crushing Units operating in the Declare that the siting criteria notified beneath the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 by Forest and Environment Department, Government of Orissa vide Notification No.9507-Env.I-80/97, dtd.13th May 1998 so that as amended vide Order No.13091, dtd. 01.08.2006 stipulate that;
1. No stone crusher shall be allowed within one kilometer from the town or village boundary.
2. No stone crusher needs to be located within half kilometer from your National and State Highways.
In view with the above, the stone crusher units, which can be operating in contravention with the above notified siting criteria must be now use a suitable location / closed. The stone crushers, that are complying with the siting criteria have to obtain consent to work from the State Pollution Control Board under Section 21 from the Air (Prevention and Charge of Pollution) Act, 1981.
It’s found from the record kept and maintained from the State Pollution Control Board that the following stone crusher units are operating in clear breach of the above siting criteria plus contravention of Section 21 of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981(operation without consent from the Board).
It is therefore impressed upon all of the defaulting stone crusher units to submit their response alongwith the certificate in the Collector and District Magistrate from the concerned district regarding compliance using the siting criteria within 1 month in the date of publication of this notice failing that your direction of closure under Section 31 A with the Air (Prevention and Power over Pollution) Act, 1981 will be issued without further notice based on the record kept and maintained by this Board.
